Hi
Paul – thanks for those two clips from “It Gets Better.” [in Issue No. 12] I didn’t even know
that Obama had done one! This is what we should be hearing – no president other than Bill
Clinton ever would have done anything like it.
Also
– the concept of “It gets better” is really universal – not all those who are bullied are gay
(ie: Phoebe Prince). Most people felt persecuted and estranged in public school, where anyone different was subject to suspicion
and targeted, especially in jock culture. I thought our kids had it better because they seem so comfortable with all forms
of sexual expression but I guess the dumbass fuckwiches are still in the ruling elite from K-12 and maybe even further down
the line.

Response: Hilary Clinton recorded a video on It Gets Better too. You can see it at:
Dear Opinion8ed, As always I like your voice in your writing. I feel like I am learning from an old friend. Hey
wait a minute I am!
Teapot party antics could make me insane but I prefer to let them move forward in full arrogance. The ball
will be back in the more liberal court again in a short amount of time. Everyone wants change it is just in different ways.
We lost a good man Mark Allessi. We really need another party.
Government is broken. The way people get elected is
broken. Our economy is still in free fall. In the end all this chaos is a perfect time for surprising
changes. I am ready to witness and support movement towards more equity, more justice and social responsibility.
In reference to the Editor's complaints about Tea Party ads showing up on this site's Google ads,
Opinion8ed co-founder and spirtual advisor had this to say...
Paul,
Here's how I like to think about it: click, Hey, I'm spending Sarah Palin's money. click, I'm spending
Sarah Palin's money.
click, hey I'm spending Sarah Palin's money....
Too bad I can't do that.
It is amazing that Americans forget how we got into this mess. All of a sudden, the same
policies that caused the financial meltdown are somehow going to cure it? Did you see David Stockman on 60 minutes last night? The guy
was telling the truth: we're gonna have to raise taxes for all, but largely on the rich, to balance the budget.
Too bad his party isn't listening to him any more....now that his 'no taxes' mantra has become religion.
As for the “40 Years Ago Today” (Issue 11) piece’s assertion that none of you feel old, what I’ve heard is that “old”
is always defined as one’s age plus at least 10. But when the group bike outing [By the Time We Got to Woodstock, Issue 7] becomes a wheelchair spin, I guess there’ll be greater pressure to admit the obvious.
Your kids are gone. With my kids at home, including a 13-year old, I’m constantly reminded that I’m not
just old but unhip

Editor's Response: I like the x+10 equation - it's dynamic and keeps moving the 1st down marker downfield.
I've got news for you though... your kids will continue to remind you how unhip you are well after they've flown the coop.
